Experiment: Perception of Authenticity << Back

Description The purpose of this study is to investigate how people use banknotes, including how people decide what the denomination of a banknote is and how people decide whether the banknote is genuine or counterfeit. We are also interested in how familiarity with the banknotes effects these decisions. To investigate we will be using both real and counterfeit banknotes from Canada, England, Australia, and the U.S.A. the counterfeit banknotes have been recovered from circulation in the native countries and have been provided by the central banks. The information obtained from the study will help with future banknote design.
